As part of my ministry, I am adding workshops and speaking opportunities. I have spoken at a Marriage Conference online, Midwest Parent Educators, and at the Teaching Parents Association Homeschool Convention. Offering encouragement and support to homeschool parents is where God is leading me. Public speaking is nothing new, as I did a lot of it back in my 4-H days, earning the Key Award and many other awards. I look forward to more speaking opportunities, to help encourage wives, moms, dads and other Christians as they strive to do Gods will for their lives. This isn’t always an easy road, and being real in my workshops, helps others to understand that their struggles though daunting at times are not blocks in the road, but minor bumps along the way to building a stronger faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. All workshops are from a Christian Worldview, and have scripture through out. Thank you for taking the time to see if my workshops will help meet a goal for your next event. Homeschooling During Financial Crisis
Financial stress can wreak havoc on the homeschool family, especially considering that many are single income families. We will discuss ways you can help lessen the stress on your family, from grocery shopping, to curriculum purchases, to unique ways to work at home. All while remembering that God will provide for your actual needs. Keeping in mind Romans 8:28, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”.
Curriculum Modifications for the Multi-Abled Homeschool
Homeschooling multiple ages and abilities has a way of making the homeschool mom get
creative with curriculum. We will discuss ways to modify curriculum to meet the multiple needs and abilities of your children, helping you spend less on curriculum, spend less time planning, and more time educating your children. Learning basic modifications can help you enjoy pretty much any curriculum you have and be able to use it to meet your children’s needs. We will also discuss what to look for when purchasing curriculum to help make it easier to modify for your family. Being able to make a few modifications will help you save money, time, and have less homeschooling stress.
Keep Your Marriage Thriving through Financial Struggles
It is said that Financial struggles are one of the leading causes of divorce. It’s no secret that hese times are a bit rough when it comes to money. With creative strategies and some common cents. Beyond couponing and eating rice and beans, grocery shopping can be successful. We will discuss money saving strategies from in the home, to the car, gift giving and more. This faith based workshop will help you remember that God will provide.
Homeschooling and Marriage~Keeping your marriage first to keep your homeschool thriving
We are seeing more and more divorce among homeschool families. This is alarming considering most of these families are Christian families and no one ever expects it. However, as homeschool moms we can become too focused on the homeschool and our children and literally forget about our husbands. We will discuss ways to keep in touch with your husband, how to train your children to know and respect your time as husband and wife.
Developing and adapting a Family Routine/Schedule for the Multi-Aged , Multi-Abled Family
Having six children, several with special needs, and being a farm family, has had it’s ups and downs when it comes to keeping up. The idea of just keep swimming, when you are drowning in a pool of overwhelming pity is well, overwhelming. Over the years, I have struggled and more often then not, my home isn’t in tip top white glove company shape, However, we have developed routines and the ability to get the house cleaned up rather quickly most of the time. (Let’s not talk about what the house looks like during our Christmas Craft Marathon, Canning Season or Harvest) In this workshop we will discuss ways to adapt and put together routines based on your family’s current flow of the day. We will talk about priorities and age appropriate chores for even your special needs children. Chaos is not what God wants in our days, and together we will learn how to find our way out of the chaos.
Nature Studies Outside the Box
Nearly every child loves nature, however not all are willing to write and draw about all they see. Many lose that interest and love for God’s Creation as they struggle to write a nice neat sentence and draw the perfect picture. In our home we have taken a different approach to Nature Studies and kept that interest alive and well. Learning together about God’s Creation. We will discuss the simple nature study that can be fun for the whole family.
If there is a topic not listed above, but you believe from reading my blog that I could do it, please don’t hesitate to ask.
