Adventures in our Mystery of History Week 1

I know all my readers are going to be shocked, but yes, we are using Mystery of History for world history. I do have plans to buy all the TruthQuest guides to use along our way, but at this time, being able to go to the library, or buying a ton of books is not likely. I have been using Mystery of History along side our TruthQuest studies for about a year, so this is not a huge change for us.

Over the past several week, I have had two children ask about studying world history after Christmas. Who am I to say no. So, since we had several parts of the Mystery of History, and also don’t have much literature on hand for world history, I decided that God was pushing us to use what we did have on hand.

This has been a great change for us. We are able to spend mornings reading a bit, discussing some and then move on.

I purchased the Notebooking pages for my older children. These have been great.

I place each 6 weeks of lessons in a folder and when they are completed I move them to their binders.

Their binders contain dividers with the seven Continents.

We are using WonderMaps as our place to get most of the maps we use.

This week we completed 3 lessons, and had a day of review, where we did our map pages, timeline, and review cards. So, we have finished lesson 3.

My 9 year old daughter completed a book of the Days of Creation, but those pictures are really bad.

So far, I am loving using the Mystery of History. I invite you to join me in this journey, whether you are in Volume one or Volume three. Lesson one or lesson 31. Grab the button, write about your week, and link up.
