This past Saturday I went to our local town’s city wide garage sales. I headed out looking for book shelves-what homeschooler is not in in of shelves? clothes for my oldest son, clothes for my oldest daughter, and books-as in those good books that everyone else seems to thing are little bits of nothing.
However, at our first sale, the book shelves were gone, and I was kind of depressed. I mean, I got there at 7:45. lol So, I was looking around and noticed a fairly newish computer, I asked about it and then decided to further think about it.
We moved on to the next sale, and next, picking up a few books, and clothes along the way. A bit later, I got a phone call from the first garage sale-one of the advantages of living in a small community where you pretty much know everyone-and they wanted me to come back and look at the computer and talk it over.
Our old school computer has been on the fritz more then off for the last year. Now having two children and sometimes three and four using the computer for school, one computer for their use was a bit challenging. I don’t let my children use my laptop as it is used so much for my blogging and design business and for dh’s farm book keeping stuff. The idea of adding another computer to our home sounded pretty good.
My husband and I have talked about replacing the old school computer, but didn’t feel now was the time to spend enough money to get a quality machine. So, when I saw this computer at the garage sale, I really had a niggling that I should talk it over with him. So, I called him and told him I was headed to look at it. He seemed quite interested.
I got there and asked to turn it on and see what the memory and all was. The memory tripled what our school computer had. So, I made an offer and they took it…$40.
We have a new computer for our homeschool. It has 3 times the memory that our other school computer has. We are still getting it set up and trying figure out all the ins and outs, but, when we are done, I expect it to be a huge blessing.
I also found, clothes, books, fabric, and an elliptical. I spent less then $90 total for things we need.
Great find!!! Sounds like a very successful day!

Fantastic! It’s so great when God helps us find the things we need for the price we can afford. To me it’s proof that He’s interested in every area of our lives!
