7 Tools Book Club Week 1 Introduction

This week we read the introduction.

I have done this…Homeschooling, more than two children, buying a house, and more.  However, God’s grace has covered these no’s to be blessings for us.

Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Psalm 37:3

What are you cultivating in your children? How are you helping them find their potential? Are you giving them opportunities to learn something new, that may not be of much interest to you? Or do you just allow them to learn what you know?

How can you offer new opportunities to give them the potential to find what the Lord has planned for them?

This week, in reading the intorduction to Zan Tyler’s book 7 Tools for Cultivating Your Child’s Potential, we read Titus 2:4.

so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

Love our children and husbands…You know they aren’t always so lovable, but we must love them.  We want to, but sometimes we find it hard.  We get tired, and worn at times.  Recently it has been the long hours that my hubby is in the field or at the shop.  gone by 7 am and not home until 10 pm…I doubt I ever stop loving them, but I know I become very agitated or easily frustrated.  A lot of the time, I feel like a single parent, but still have to take care of a husband…I need to make sure I see that differently.

Tonight as I wrote this post, one of my children made a list of Robot parts to build his robot with.  I honestly have little interest in this, but he is very geared toward the sciences from biological to the physical sciences.  It doesn’t matter.  I handle the biological awesomely.   Physical…not so much.  I need to change this attitude, because he could be the next big robot engineer that helps build some big thing for whatever God leads him to.

It is so important to see our children’s strengths and encourage them, even if not ours. I have seen this with my grown children :) God blesses each differently!
