I Can Study Acts Alone with God NIV version, by Karen Mohs, published by Green N’ Stuff, is an in depth study of the book of Act for Upper Elementary and older students. However, my fifth grader did struggle, but I sometimes find that this is a week area for him…fill in the blank..he likes essay type of questions.
I Can Study Acts is divided into four parts with Thirteen five day weekly lessons per part.

- Pentecost, Peter, and Stephen
- Paul’s conversion and missionary journeys
- Jerusalem to Rome, Paul defending his faith
- Fifty-two weekly lessons
- Clear, straightforward questions
- “Think and Pray About It” applications
- Sidebars and Memory verses
- For late elementary and up
- Sample pages! When finished, click on BACK to return.
- New International Version
- $23.95 (US)
I Can Study Acts daily lesson looks like this:
- Pray
- Read or recite memory verse
- Answer the questions (2-4 per day)
Because answering the questions for the most part is fairly simple, students are able to really grasp the meaning of the scriptures and learn to study the Bible with out being overwhelmed.
I think the main reason my son struggled with this, is because it was too easy…He is a deeper thinker. He was looking for an answer that was not in front of his face…So, for children who are a little more prone to not overthinking, this would be great. In fact, I am going to go through this, as I would like to study Acts closer and learn more about Peter, James, King Herod and so forth before we start studying this part of history.
I love how each day is laid out for you, there is no teacher preparation needed. Give the child a Bible, the workbook, and a pencil and they are set to study Acts Alone. There are little boxes on most pages with additional information, providing definitions to unfamiliar word, extra tid bits of information, At the end of each lesson is a Think and Pray About It box that gives suggestions for deeper thoughts and how to apply each lesson to your own life.
In all honesty, I think this will be a good study to use as a family study in our home. I think opening it as a family study will allow us to open more discussion and to help answer the questions that don’t always come up when studying on your own.
To me, this would probably be a better fit for an alone study if my children were a bit older. The publisher does state this is for upper elementary and older, so that seems fairly accurate, as my oldest is in fifth grade, and does have some learning struggles.
