As we really get going in school, I am watching my children to see what seems to be their favorite curriculum so far. Why?
Because I want to see if there is a pattern. Can I help make other subjects as interesting or fun for them?
So far, for my oldest daughter it seems to be our lapbooks. She is loving putting these together and working hard to fill in the information.
So far, for my oldest son it is still Teaching textbooks. He loves to use the computer, but if I am not careful will get to playing. At this time, I really see no way to build on this, because of the discipline issues. Tough Love must push through this one.
For me, my favorites are:
- Apologia Who is God and Notebooking Journal
- Apologia Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day and Notebooking Journal and A Journey Through Learning Lapbook
- TruthQuest History with Lapbooks from A Journey Through Learning.
I love that these are solid, biblical, and thought provoking resources. I also like that we can work on them as a family, but also I can send my olders off to work on them at a little higher and deeper level.
For my younger crowd, their favorites are:
The things I have made for them. All the prinables I have laminated and they work on with dry erase crayons or clothes pins. They love them.
I love these items too, as they are reusable and are easily passed around to all four of them.
What are your family’s favorites so far this year? Why?
