I posted on Facebook about how I was getting our homeschool in order. I posted about having printed a few planning forms, and that now I needed to fill them out. Well, someone though that meant I was organized. HA! My work area looks like a bomb hit it. Seriously, it does, though I do know what is in each pile, there still must be a better way. But, I have ADHD tendencies—that is why I have six children, I just blend in and no one notices. Or that is what I tell myself, and please don’t burst my bubble.
What was I writing about? Oh, yes, my work area is a mess, I am not supermom nor am I organized. Want to see?
See, that is not organization. That is not the appearance a supermom would allow you to see. Hey, I am just keeping it real, because well, I want someone else to tell me that they aren’t perfect either. Want to know about those piles? Well, one pile is homeschool curriculum that only has about three weeks of lessons left to finish the book, one pile is new stuff just bought, one pile is homeschool record books—I have two, one for daily records, and one for yearly, that the daily/weekly stuff going into around monthly. One pile is games I want to teach my children, one pile is file folder games that need Velcro applied, one pile is the speakers that I switch out from computer to computer as needed, that are not hooked up to either at this time. One pile is my husband’s laundry that I should have put away, one pile is notes I took at the homeschool convention. Another pile is a few toys that need minor repairs. Yep, this is organized chaos, a result of my ADHD tendency, and a fact that hits me in the face that says “Hey you don’t have it all together, and you best alert your readers to it now.” So, there you have it. My work area, that is planned to be taken care of by Monday morning.
How did this get to look like this? Well, I am the mom to six children who tends to be a bit ADHD, who also has a farmer for a husband, who didn’t get home til nearly 3 am two nights in a row, who went to a homeschool convention, who needs to make room on the shelves for those purchases, who had a goal to complete a couple of projects, but had to weed the garden that was neglected, who God called to put together a Bible Study Group called Holy Housewives, who forgot that there was going to be other plans made for her, but will not allow them to push her plans on the back burner, so she leaves it all out as a reminder that there is no time to sit and read a fiction book, or sew, or play with the design on her blog until she is around 80. Yep, God showed me that He has a plan, and that my plans will wait until I finish what He has asked me to do for now. My plans will sit there as motivation to complete His will. Did I mention that I had two sick children during all this. Our baby Hannah was sick for the better part of a week. So, want to show me, that you aren’t supermom? Am I alone? Oh, please don’t burst my bubble.

I’m wishing my work area was even this organized. That’s a major project on the list to do before school starts again. I’m certainly not up for any supermom awards. When people say “Ten kids? You must be really organized”, I try to keep from falling on the floor, laughing hysterically.

Whew, I am not the only one! I have piles for my piles, and don’t get me started on my lists of lists. My 5 keep me on my toes day and night. Just today my 3 y/o decided to lotion herself…with syrup while I was cutting the grass, (what were my other 4 doing while she was slathering herself with syrup?). I am counting down the days now until my husband returns from deployment.
I can’t stand a messy van, but I always seem to have one, can’t wait to see your post tomorrow.

I have matching piles at my house, too, mama! We did have a lot of fun on our nature walk this morning though, so the piles will continue to wait. LOL Looking forward to “seeing” you on the Crew this year!

Supermom is a myth! Rofl. . . And we just exhaust ourselves trying to be someone who isn’t even real!
. You should see my house right now. Or even just my living room. , . And my chaos isn’t even categorized piles right now!
Snort, ROFLOL haha NO! I have to stop the piles of paperwork surrounding me like some sort of paper Grand Canyon are teetering. Betty you are NOT alone on the stuff. I too know my piles and I vow by the end of convention season they will be beat back into place.
God bless

Sarah, isn’t part of this mess, left from you? hehe
Lisa, glad to know I am not alone.
Andrea, My children will help put things away as I complete each project. The rest of our home is in ok shape, but well it is “my” area that has been neglected. lol
Melissa, my house is never cleaner then my van. I can’t stand a messy van. In fact you will love tomorrow’s post.
I can’t burst your bubble and I’m a professional organizer
My house may be organized but my car and van look like a pig sty…thanks for being transparent!

Supermom I am not! You should see my HS planning desk/sewing table/childcare computer station area…it looks like the tornado from the Wizard of Oz just ripped through my livingroom. I have laundry stacked up in front of it (can’t get to the desk) because I had to move the big totes out of the way of the 55 gallon fish take that we did a water change on today. Seriously, my livingroom is a wreck…and we won’t even talk about my kitchen right now.
However, it’s nice to see you are keeping your priorities straight. God won’t ask if your table was clean on judgement day, but he will ask how you did with His assignments. The rest are details. And if my math is right you have 4 other kids. Have them help out!
Oh, you are my new best friend. My six are a lot further apart than yours and I still can’t keep up with them.
Sorry to burst your bubble but umm….Haha no just kidding!!!!! LOL…We have piles around the house just like those..except there not as “organized as yours most of the time! LOL…Love you!
